So about a week or two before my brother in law came home from Iraq me and the kids went to Pocatello for one of our many visits. The kids had made big plans to go roller skating or to the movies or to the fun zone. But they hadn't made any real decisions. So we started giving them some other choices to help. In the end my sister and I were feeling really tired and the kids still hadn't come up with anything. So, I made a quick trip to Walmart for some goodies and we ended up having a movie night at their house. It actually ended up being a lot of fun. We printed out some "movie tickets" off the internet and wrote out a personal invite to the "movie theater" with funny names for each of the kids. And then printed out some "spending tickets" for treats. Then we sent the kids outside for a while we decorated for the theater. The kids had no clue what was going on. We moved my sisters couches to make theater seating and then put on funny hats and told them to come to the front door. Tami and I spoke in weird voices as we handed out the tickets and the kids thought we were crazy and laughed at each of the funny names on the invites. We then welcomed them into the theater as we ran over the the consesion stand we had set up on the bar. The kids had tickets that they could buy drinks, treats and popcorn. They thought it was really fun.

All of the kids kept saying that this was so much better than doing any of the other things that they were wanting to do. And Tami and I got to chill on the couch and hangout with our kiddos. We all had a lot of fun and I am sure we will be planning another Pocatello movie night at my sisters house in the future!
Let us not forget.....to be there when needed!!
