~Lake Powell and other fun things~

In June we took a family trip to Lake Powell with some friends of ours (Todd & Sandy Robinson and their family and about 4 other families). We kicked off our trip with the Manti, Utah Mormon Pageant! WOW!! It was awesome. The Temple is so pretty and to have that as the backdrop was amazing. You can tell that they have had years and years of practice. It is so worth going to.



The next day we finished our drive to Page, Arizona AKA the very end of Lake Powell. It was a long drive for the kids.
The weather was perfect. We spent a week and enjoyed every minute of it.
Eric and the boys spent a lot of time shooting lizards off the rocks with water gun! Boys will be Boys!!!
Wanna know how to float around so you have a perfect aim on those lizards??

Step 1.... Put on your life jacket diaper!!

Step 2....Grab your floaty seat!!
Your good to go.....don't forget your gun!!!

Eric spent a lot of time out on the Air Chair....DUH!!!!

We did get one really good rain storm for about 15 minutes. WOW! It can really put it down out there!

Rainbow Bridge

Kaiden's attempt at "holding" the bridge. (He failed to tell me what he was doing until later) Hahaha!! What a funny kid.

The four of us made it. Keira heard that there might be snakes and turned around about 20 feet from the bottom. Kelsey on the other hand wanted to do it all by herself.
Headed back down!
Kaiden got up on his new ski's. I think it is pretty cool to have the Hole in the Rock as a background!! LOVE IT!!!
On of the days was really windy so we headed out on a road trip. We stopped at this HUGE bridge. That's the Colorado river below it. Holy Cow that was a long ways down!!

Then we stopped at a pretty cool place called the Cliff Dwellers. People built housed out of the rocks that were there. CRAZY!!!





The last stop we made was at the very North end of the Grand Canyon. It was so pretty!
Here is Keira and her new friend Natalia Call. They had so much fun together. I think they thought they were twins. It was so fun to see her bond with someone so quickly!!


On the way home we pulled into a gas station in Evanston, WY and felt and heard this big bang. OH CRAP!!! Eric and I both jumped out of the truck and found this......
Yep, the trailer broke just as we stopped at the gas station. How can you drive for 2 days going 65-80 miles an hour down a freeway and have the boat trailer brake when we stop at a gas station??? BLESSINGS!!!! Luckly our friend Ryan lives in Evanston and has a shop with a welder. About two hours later Eric and Ryan had us fixed back up and we were on the road again. It's is scary to think what could have happened if it would have broke at any other time.
What a fun trip. We all had a really good time and look forward to another Powell trip in the future!!!
