Memorial Weekend

It always rains on Memorial Weekend in Star Valley and this year was no different. That didn't stop us from having fun though. Well kind of. Let me actually go back about a month. Last month we decided very randomly (which is Eric and Brandy style) to buy a boat. We had ofcourse been talking about it for about a year but kept saying that we would wait a little longer. Well this time a little longer didn't happen and we ended up buy our boat. They had to put some extras on the boat so we left it in Idaho Falls for about a month. Then last weekend we went and picked it up and took it out on the lake for the first time. It was so exciting and scary. The kids loved it. The weather was perfect infact it got so hot that the kids played in the water on the swim deck. So this weekend we planned for the long weekend and took our camp trailer to the lake and then sat in the rain all day Friday. It was freezing cold and muddy everywhere. The next day I woke up to the sound of 3 four-wheelers driving around and around. When I looked out the window I saw Eric and his cousins Lane and Mike driving through the mud trying to get each other muddy. This is what it looked like when they came back to the camp trailer. Yuck what a mess. Saturday rained all day also and then the boys decided to go play in the mud again but this time they went to a different part of the lake. They met up with Eric's dad, Lane & Mike's dad, Eric's brothers and alot more of there friends. Kaiden decided to go with them this time and when they came back they were both covered in mud and Kaiden was froze solid. Luke and Jenn showed up at about the same time and so did the wind and more rain. We left camp at 6:00 Sunday morning and made it to church just in time. After church we headed back to camp for lunch and a nap. Sunday was the nicest day we had. It did not rain at all and the sun came out for quite a while. Eric and I were so bummed that it was sunny and we couldn't put the boat out in the water so we opened the boat, turned on the radio and sat in it for about an hour. The sun got so warm that it was hot sitting in the boat. We had fun hanging out with our friends and sitting around the fire the rest of the evening. Monday moring we woke up and it was just cloudy and not raining so Eric and the boys took the boat out on the lake and some how talked Luke into riding the Air Chair in the freezing water. They made it back just in time for the rain to start again. It never stopped the rest of the day. At about 4:30 we started loading everything up (in the rain) and got home around 6:30 pm. What a rainy weekend, but hey there is always next weekend.
